FABRIC FLOWER WOOD FRAMES

I need a little help. I saw these ADORABLE frames on a blog a couple of weeks ago. The girl gave a tutorial on how she did them and I just recreated them in my own way. I want to give her a shout out and some credit, but I have no idea where I saw it. Anyone know?

These were so fun to make and will definitely be a staple at CI. My husband just built a new deck and we had a huge 10x12 piece of lumber left. Lumber numbers always confuse me. If it's a 10x12 that means it really measures 9 1/4. Why? I don't have a clue...But anyway when I cut mine the ACTUAL size was 9 1/4 x 6 1/4. It gave me a lot of frames. I used Benjamin Moore's Elmira white, one of my all time favorite whites. It only took one coat because I used Behr Paint with primer. SHH...don't tell Benjie. Home Depot matched it for me.

I found these old wooden finials at an Estate sale months ago and just knew I needed them for something. Well these are the something! I wish I had more! The big box stores don't have any like these. These are just cool and vintage. I only had 4....bummer.
After these four sell, I'll just have to paint new ones.
If any of you see any old wooden ones while out thrifting, think of me!!

I found a rose tutorial on Rhonna Farner's blog from the House of 3.
They were super easy to make and I used left over burlap and linen scraps from my pillows.
I hot glued the little clothes pins on and painted them the same white. And Voila....a unique picture frame fit for any occasion.

UPDATE: YAY!!! Thanks girls for letting me know where I saw these! I am so glad I asked. I new someone had to have seen them!
It was Shanty 2 Chic! AWESOME blog. You must check them out.....

  7. Hi Kelli,
Those frames are wonderful! I think you can get finials, simular to the ones you have, at Hobby Lobby.

I'm enjoying Encore, the staff is fantastic! Plus I get to help customers, fluff, arrange and all that fun stuff for the owners now. But I do miss the people at C.I.!

I popped in C.I. last Saturday but it was still in the set up mode. Can't wait to see your booth and all the others after everthing settles. Your mom and I had a nice visit Wednesday at my booth. We talked about how to create walls!

    Hope to see you soon!

    Joyfully,
    Elizabeth Ann

  8. Love this blog! Does anyone know where to get "silk Creations" or clip art (pdf) for document fabric? I would love to start these this weekend.

    Hooked on blogs!

  11. These are adorable! I think Marianne at http://www.domestically-speaking.com/ has tutorial on how to do these flowers. Hey, I have a little congrats gift for you. I am hoping to make it to the mail store today. I have had an unbelievably crazy, crazier than usual week. Anyhow....you will laugh when you see it. It is a sort of "pass it on" and show your stuff kind of thing, has something to do with my favorite glaze. Love you girl! Keep up the awesome posts.

  13. Barb! That is a great question. I wondered where she got that myself! You know, you can always print a graphic from www.thegraphicsfairy.blogspot.com and iron some fabric to a piece of freezer paper. Cut it to the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and zip it through your printer. To set the ink just iron it on! Have fun!
