ANTIQUE DRESSING TABLE

I LOVE this piece.

I hate that y'all have to see the nastiness that is my basement but this little girl is heavy! I can usually manage a piece alone on the dolly but not this one.....

This is the piece that had the horrible red bleed. I applied two coats of Country Gray Chalk paint and it dealt with the red really well. I also used a dark wax on top. I have no idea which antique shop it was where I purchased this wax or where to get more but I love it! If you ever see  it somewhere, please let me know!

I waxed the piece first before I distressed and it took off just enough wax and paint to give it a perfectly aged look.

I used my new anthropologie clearance knobs and I think they look fabulous.

I made the blessed banner specifically for this piece. It is book pages that I ran through my printer and then sewed onto drop cloth. I atatched them to twine....super super easy......

If any of you have used this paint this week, please link it up at Restored It Wednesday! It starts tomorrow night! I can't wait to see your finished projects!

  4. I like it a lot! All of this painted and waxed furniture makes me want to makeover ALL of my bedroom furniture. Is the chalk paint really stinky? Or would it be okay to use indoors with a window open?

  6. Where did you get your chalk paint? I am dying to get some, but I am not sure if $50+ is worth it??? That's what the total cost was going to be after shipping charges. Would love to know your thoughts...by the way, you piece is beautiful!
