This piece had me dreaming of a cottage beach house or a serene lake house cabin. Can't you just picture it? This is another chalk paint piece. I used the Country Gray as a base coat and the Louise Blue over it. While I was distressing it, I found out something about this fabulous paint. I hate chalk dust so I kept a wet rag with me to wipe up as I went. The feeling of that stuff makes me get the fingernail on the chalkboard heebie geebies......As I was sanding, my block got a little damp and the paint started distressing easier. So....I ran my block under a little water and it really helped get the deep distressing that I was looking for. I wouldn't recommend this if you are just wanting a light distress.
I have not gotten any fancy pants clear wax yet. The old Johnson's did just fine. I used my wax brush in which I am in LOVE with and it went on super easy and smooth. I bought the wax brush from Karen at Chalk Paint USA. Expensive, but in my opinion worth every penny as long as you take care of it. I applied two coats of wax and it feels like a factory finish.

This little shelf is so versatile.
It could be used as a media cabinet........
It would be a great book shelf or toy shelf.........
or even sitting on another piece as a hutch......
This piece is showing off at Consigning Interiors if anyone has to have it!
