MY SPACE, ANNIE SLOAN AND A NEW SPONSOR

And now back to regularly scheduled blogging........It's been a while hasn't it? The auction was amazing and again, thank you to each of you who participated. Make sure, if you bid on something to see if you won! You can send your payments to rememberalabama@gmail.com.

We finally got walls up at Consigning Interiors Urban Suburban Pelham. Yes , they have changed the name, which I LOVE, but the sign outside still says Consigning Interiors. If you are coming to shop, don't get confused! It's still the same store. We spent some time this week getting used to the new space and rearranging. I like it. I like being blocked off and I feel like I have my own little "store" in there. With mom and I both sharing the space, it has a very eclectic feel but it looks so cute! My 11 year old said it looked like someones cozy house....I guess that's a good thing. That means it says, come on in and stay a while!

Here are a few pictures that I snapped while I was there. The wall is still a little bare, but I'm working on it.

I guess it's time to bite the bullet for a new camera. I am having issues. So sorry for the terrible pictures!

So are you ready to be JEALOUS? My friend Stacy of Faux Studio Designs has just become an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint stockist. Oh yes that's right....no shipping for me and I am going to her first class on June 18th to learn all of her fabulous techniques. Of course, I will be blogging my way through it!  Stacy graduated from the Southern Institute of Faux Finishing and has some expanded knowledge, even beyond chalk paint, to bring to the table. I am sure the knowledge will be well worth the cost of the class. June 18th is full but she will have another one coming up in July.

So for those of you chalk paint junkies that are local, you can visit her studio in Pelham at

2116 Old Montgomery Highway Suite B
Pelham/Birmingham  AL  35124
205-982-4464

and purchase paints, books brushes, waxes and all other Annie Sloan goodies. She will be having classes monthly, so make sure you ask Stacy about her schedule. If you are not local, don't worry, you will be able to order her things soon on her website at www.fauxstudiodesigns.com. Just keep the web address on file and check back with her soon. Of course, I will let you know when it's finally up.

If you go by and visit Stacy or call her, please make sure you tell her you heard about her from Restore Interiors!
I also wanted to highlight one of my new sponsors, Allison, from Vintage Charm and Restoration.

Allison is a fellow Alabamian and also a great furniture gal! Please go by and pay her a visit. She has a great blog!

  1. Your space looks wonderful! I'm all ready to hop on a plane to Alabama for a class this July, but I can't get the link to work, and when I google the shop's name, nothing correct comes up! Help! Thanks for the heads up for a new place to buy chalkpaint. It's on my list to try this summer!

  2. What a great space, and I agree, it does look like someone's cozy house. Hope you do very well there, as I am sure you will. I have my chalk pain, wax and even wax brush, but I haven't done any painting yet. I am new to this, but since I just retired thought I would give it a shot. I am just waiting for some warm weather here in California (believe it or not). We have had such bad weather all winter and now into spring and what looks lime the beginning of summer. It is supposed to rain all weekend. Oh, sorry for rambling on.....love, love, love your space. Wished I lived in Alabama.

  6. Hi,
I wish you would pass along to Urban Surban that they are not nearly as friendly as the previous owners. They make you feel like they are doing you a favor by letting you come in there and then they kinda act like you are in their way...Thanks!

Hello Annonymous, I wish I knew your name:) I am so sorry you had a bad experience at Urban Suburban Pelham. I am assuming you were at the one on Highway 31. I did let the manager know about this and she would like to know if you could personally email me and tell me about your experience and what the individual looked like that you had an issue with. I don't know all of the employees but the ones I do know are dealers there and are sweet as can be and are very reliant on your patronidge. You can find my email at the top right of my blog.I would appreciate any further feedback that you may have.
