I know....I have not blogged since Thursday. I have literally been working on this baby in ALL of my spare time. This piece has taken me longer than any piece I have ever done, but I can say, it is by far my favorite and it was worth every hour spent. I saw right through this dated 70's piece. It is a Heritage Dresser, dovetailed drawers in pristine condition and it's on rollers that are hidden underneath. The curvature and the detail of this dresser was perfect for where I needed it to go.
It is playing a different role in my house. Instead of a dresser, my flat screen is going to be mounted over it and all of the components tucked neatly inside.

I was so determined to get this done quickly, I had it hanging out in my kitchen, right in my way. I made myself look at it.

When I first bought this piece, I thought I would need to replace the hardware. No way! This hardware is drop dead gorgeous and the perfect patina for this piece. Don't you love the key hole?

I am in love....I have not decorated it yet, but I couldn't wait to show it to you.

What do you think??
That turned out soooo beautiful!! I LOVE the color. I haven't tried out chalk paint yet, I was thinking of going with the Louis blue and old white, but I am just loving the gray color on this piece. Your finish turned out just so perfect I might be dropping you a line and picking your brain when I redo my dining room hutch.

ReplyDeleteThat is fantabulous! I love the grey/ow duo. If you have a sec tell us about the glaze or wax you used on it...I'm also curious if you clear coated it or waxed it? AND wanted to thank you for your mention of the painting class you went to and posted about recently, I'm going next Saturday! Will we see you there?
