Anna Kate's party on Friday night was a huge hit. The police were not called and the neighbors didn't come knocking on my door and hot chocolate never landed on my slipcovers..... I call that successful. You can only imagine the decibel level outside and inside with 16 screaming 12 year old girls running around. At one point they had the Karaoke machine out on the back deck screaming the Star Spangled Banner and Justin Beiber Christmas songs. The only real incident was a full bottle of nail polish remover that spilled on her bed. Thankfully it was only on the blankets and sheets:)
Before the party started I had a HUGE dilemma and a slight panic moment. I had a beautiful hot cocoa bar set up with a percolator and it kept blowing a fuse, causing ALL of my lights to go out in the kitchen and family room. We had to play fruit basket turn over with my decorations and food before the kids got here. I never got to snap pictures of my food ;( I was so sad......The girls came rushing in and started scarfing it up. It looked really cute though! AGH! Maybe next year. I know now what my electrical can handle and what it can't.

I taught Anna Kate how to make sheet music decorations. She made all of the paper ornaments on the tree as well as several wreaths.

The peppermint sticks for the hot cocoa were a hit. I had all of my silver full of those yummy soft ones as well as mini marshmellows.

One of my favorite decorations was turning my chandelier into a girly Christmas tree. I wrapped it with different colored tulle, tied a bow on the top and hung ornaments from it.

All of the tables had table runners made out of wrapping paper. It made for easy clean up knowing there would be multiple spills. I also had numerous glass jars filled with jelly beans and candy canes spread around the tables.

Anna Kate wrapped up some cute party favors using my new favorite Etsy Shop's printable graphics. I didn't get use them all but they will work for next year too. Visit Amanda at Shindig Parties To Go to see what great things she has to offer!

I bet she loved that party. Twelve year old girls like to do all the things you had for them to do. Cherish every moment. Blessings.
