Back in the summer I attempted to tackle my ugly duck bathroom tile for a temporary fix until we gut our bathroom and start over. I found an amazing adhesion primer by Sherwin Williams, scuffed up the tile really well and then painted it with a high gloss enamel in White Dove by Ben Moore. This is what it used to look like...................

The comment on the picture cracks me up today because it is STILL dirty looking... ALL THE TIME! White was not a smart choice for a bathroom floor that my whole family uses everyday. For it to be clean, I was having to scrub it everyday after everyone got ready in the morning and then multiple times during the day when people would walk in with their shoes. Word to the wise.....don't use a high gloss enamel on the floor and definitely don't use WHITE!
I have been getting ready for Anna Kate's Christmas party and I just cannot have anyone come in this bathroom with the floor like it is. Here it is with the white floor minus the close up of the dirt......

This week, I went to Faux Studio Designs and picked up a can of Coco Chalk Paint and a can of Annie Sloans new lacquer made just for floors and chalk paint. I was SO anxious to try it out. I have painted three coats on the floor and am on my 2nd coat of lacquer. I will post the results of my big weekend project tomorrow when I have some light to photograph. I will be your guinea pig for the endurance factor. I hope it will hold up to the constant flow of traffic. We shall see! It sure does look 100 times better! I figured if I painted the floor the color of dirt I would have a one up:)
If you have not entered the giveaway for 200.00 worth of Annie Sloan Products from Faux Studio Designs, check out the giveaway here. It will be up until Christmas Eve.
