MY FAVORITES OF 2011

Wow....I cannot believe 2012 is staring us all in the face. It has flown by for me, really a little too fast. My oldest daughter, I think, has officially stepped out of childhood and walked right into her preteen years. Last Christmas she was asking for outfits for her American Girl dolls and this year....well.... she gave all of the dolls to her little sister and asked only for clothes, jewelry, shoes, a curling iron and a cell phone. ****insert sniffle****They are both growing up so fast. Tonight I treasured letting them stay up a little later to bake cookies and play a few games with me. Before I blink they are going to be gone. While I wipe my tears on my sleeve, I am thinking of just how much I have to be thankful for. This has been a great year, full of blessings in both my business and my family. Thank you all for being a part of it!

So it seems to be a trend around here for everyone to look back at some of their favorite projects of 2011. I thought I would share a few of mine.............

My very favorite thing that I finished this year was my media cabinet and family room................

Then probably this bow front chest............................................................

I loved the finish on this china cabinet. I need to recreate this sometime soon........

And I loved doing these pieces for my friend Doran.........................................

And I REALLY loved this numbered chest of drawers......

Looking forward to 2012!

For those of you who have been fervently praying for my friend Summer, I thank you. She is doing well and had a great Christmas with her family. Her radiation treatments seem to be helping her regain some feeling in her leg. We are claiming this means the mass is shrinking! Her hair began to fall out this week so her husband shaved it for her. Her precious 11 year old used his flip camera to video this and put it to music all by himself. I thought I would share this with you to so that you may feel a personal connection to Summer and that it may help you as you pray for her. She has another chemo treatment on January 3rd.
I am SO proud of her and her unwavering faith that she is publicly displaying. She gets it.

God's plans and His purpose for our lives are so much greater than any trial, sickness, or hardship we may face. He sees the BIG picture.

  7. Thanks so much for the video of your friend who is fighting cancer. Her son is amazing to have put it to the song he put it to. I've lost so much family & so many friends to cancer, that I'd really like to kick its azz and I hope Summer kicks its azz as well... She will be in my daily prayers.

I adore ALL of your re-dos & you are one talented young woman! I'm an old lady still in the learning stages, but I'm like a sponge & am hopefully still a quick learner.
