IT'S AN ILLNESS I TELL YOU!! RECYCLED DRESS...

Traditionally, January for me is clean out and organize month. After I took down all of my decorations, I started cleaning out closets and drawers filling numerous overflowing  boxes with unwanted or outdated clothing. I have a hoarding tendency, I know I do. I have to keep that in check because I HATE clutter. I starting going through all of my clothes thinking to myself....HMMMM.... this is all good fabric and fabric is expensive! It's an illness I tell you!!  I could see my husband reading my thoughts and speaking very loudly without saying a word. "Oh great....just what we need....more crap to store in the basement. Didn't we just clean that out?"
I was good. I only kept a few things. One of them was a bright orange knit dress that I wore to the salon before my sister's wedding. I think I accidentally dried it on high heat and it was forever too short to wear.  I loved the ruffled straps and I saw a GREAT pillow for my oldest daughters room.

Look what transpired! A soft, knit, down filled creation..... one item of clothing restored and ready for a new purpose.

  2. What a great idea! I have the same illness but mine is a different version, I see the potential, keep the item and do nothing with it for months... who am I kidding years! Absolutely adorable. Go check out my blog and see what I did with an old wool coat.
