Here is a little sneak peak of my color scheme for my master bedroom. My ceilings were already a mustard color from a design I tried to finish years ago and never did. It's called Mesa Gold and surprisingly, this color ( not the exact name but same color) is one of Restoration Hardware's 2012 colors. I was thrilled not to have to paint the ceiling. That is a total job. My wall color is Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter. It's a warm gray and looks great with the mustard yellow. I was given the Fog quilt set from Restoration Hardware for Christmas. So far it's been a pretty cheap makeover! I have only spent the price of the paint plus money to get a pillow I already had monogrammed. I am trying to work with what I have as much as I can
I totally hate this dresser. It's really cheap and the drawers need to be fixed, but I already own it so I'm using it. I already have started the paint job on it and it's going to be a creamy white with a gray glaze.
I'm using several modern design elements and this roll of vintage yellow damask is going to give my room a traditional twist. I have enough fabric for drapes and an accent pillow for my chair. And guess what....it was FREE. The people who moved out of my grandmother's house years ago, left it behind! We have saved it for 11 years and I am SO glad we did because it blends beautifully.
My room looks like a disaster area right now but very soon it will be a simplified, relaxing space and will FINALLY be pretty to look at.

It's going to be beautiful! Im anxious to see the finished look of your dresser..I have the same one!
ReplyDeleteLove those colors and I'm doing my bedroom soon in those colors too. Right now I'm in gathering mode for some inexpensive items to add to the room. Score on that fabric and your dresser will look amazing painted.
