THIS WEEKS TREASURES

I always laugh with some other girls I know that are dealers in different areas. We are ALWAYS each other's best customers. I find so many things that I just have to have from friends and fellow dealers.

At the Gardendale Antique Mall, I found a gorgeous, vintage glass cloche (dome) with etching all over it. This is a very rare find. I couldn't pass it up and I am going to have a REALLY hard time parting with it....period. I'm still debating that one.

You can't really see the etching as well in the above photo but the one below shows the detail a little better.

At the Bama Flea Mall today, I found this great old shoe brush. I love the wood patina on this old brush.. but guess what? I am actually going to use it! It is a GREAT brush for buffing wax on furniture when you are done painting. It gives a great hard finish and removes the "tacky" feel that wax tends to have. You don't have to use a vintage one....I just like the way they look.

I also snagged a few old photos for display, the one of the farmhand in the glass cloche as well as this old house.

My very, very favorite find is this J. Gould bird print in its original frame. Oh....be still my heart!!! This is staying home with me. I have the perfect spot! I also snagged this great old basket and a few silver trays.

Over all....a VERY successful day, don't ya think?
