At the Gardendale Antique Mall, I found a gorgeous, vintage glass cloche (dome) with etching all over it. This is a very rare find. I couldn't pass it up and I am going to have a REALLY hard time parting with it....period. I'm still debating that one.
You can't really see the etching as well in the above photo but the one below shows the detail a little better.
At the Bama Flea Mall today, I found this great old shoe brush. I love the wood patina on this old brush.. but guess what? I am actually going to use it! It is a GREAT brush for buffing wax on furniture when you are done painting. It gives a great hard finish and removes the "tacky" feel that wax tends to have. You don't have to use a vintage one....I just like the way they look.
I also snagged a few old photos for display, the one of the farmhand in the glass cloche as well as this old house.
Over all....a VERY successful day, don't ya think?

Gorgeous - don't you love finding hidden treasures! I especially love the vintage glass cloche - I have been contemplating displaying one in my home... and I think you have convinced me. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! Why don't I ever seem to find those kinds of treasures? I'll have to keep looking.
