Yesterday, I played around with one of Stacey's new products called crackle tex by Artisan and I have to say I am impressed with its performance. This product not only crackles but allows for paint to be pulled off, giving an incredible aged patina. I still have some tweaking to do but I just want you to see my before and after from my trial run.
This is an old picture from a tutorial way long ago, I just repainted the lamp. So here is the before.........
And here is the after......
I used layers of paris gray, old white and coco chalk paints and this is what I came out with.

It needs a barrel shade but I already had this one. I will just change it out when I find a deal on one.
This is a keeper!

So BEAUTIFUL!! Great texture and it looks like wood!
ReplyDeleteI need some lamps myself and this one is a great inspiration piece! Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI love it... I have been wanting to do my lamp and this is just perfect...now to get the paint.
ReplyDeleteI have a "light" addiction. As in ceiling lights, lamps, and twinkle lights! Yours turned out fabulous!!!

So happy you are up and running again. I have 2 of these lamps (very expensive 30 yrs ago) and now I know what to do with them. Thank you for the idea. Blessings Paula Lusk
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli,
ReplyDeleteI'd keep that lamp also, it looks great! I love the texture.
Tell your mom I said hello.
Joyfully,

Thank you for posting this. It’s exactly what I was looking for!
ReplyDeleteLooks super, Kelli! Try Tuesday Morning...great shades for cheap! :) Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great!!! Now if I can just find a lamp.... :)
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of layering paint until I came across your blog. The color and finish is so awesome -- did you really only layer the paint and use the crackle finish? Any additional distressing of any kind? Did you finish with fax or a top coat of any kind? I absolutely love how it turned out and want to try this myself!!
