SALON BELLA

Ruth Ann, the girl who cuts my hair just recently moved to Edgwood to a Salon Bella. My oldest and I desperately needed a haircut so we went to visit for the first time in her new place on Tuesday. Y'all it was the cutest place! I left my daughter in the chair and ran out to the car to get my camera so I could show you all the decor in this salon. It is so fun!

They have taken all of these old chests and made them into their haircutting stations. I was drooling over every piece in there thinking....ooooo, that would look so beautiful in a french gray or blue. Each station had a huge decorative mirror over it and all the chests were different. It was so Eclectic and charming.

See this depression era cabinet in the back? They have a refrigerator hidden in it so you don't see all of the clutter of the extra cans or the white fridge.

Here is another chest.....

I loved the mix of bright red with the animal print in the waiting area. It is just fun.

One of the coolest rooms in the place was the pedicure room. I wish I had a better lens on my camera that could have captured a wider angle, because they had an old chippy paint cabinet in there holding supplies that was to die for. I couldn't get the angle in my lens.

This mix of old vintage barber chairs throughout the Salon give the place a sense of nostalgia and history. I would love to know where one finds these kinds of things! Just like much of the furniture, these chairs looked to be dated to the 30's and some even older.

This is sweet Ruth Anne! She does a fabulous job on my hair and on my daughters. If you are in the Birmingham area and you want to visit Salon Bella, you can find her at

I bought a few pieces from the 30's myself a few weeks back and started working on them today. A trestle table, a buffet and a china cabinet. I also FINALLY put a second coat of primer on my bathroom walls. YAY! It's coming slowly.... but it's coming. I hope to be able to share picture with you soon.

  4. Oh Kelli...Thank you so much for such wonderful compliments! I am Brenda DeWitt (co-owner) of Salon Bella. My partner Rachell and I so appreciate such nice words from our clients. The transformation of Salon Bella from an audio video shop to a hair salon was sooooo much work (a lot of fun too) so it's makes it all worth it when we hear such wonderful compliments. Thank you soooo much! Btw, we love having RuthAnn at Salon Bella. Not only is she an incredibly talented stylist, she is also a beautiful person both inside and out!
I love your blog! From looking at your pics of your home we seem to have the same taste in decorating. I love all the whites and neutrals and oh the feedsacks. I'm obsessed with feedsacks!! Salon Bella shows a little of my wild side of decorating! Lol
