MY MARKET TRIP

SO sorry you didn't hear from me last night. I should have had a post ready for you all before I left, but I tend to fly by the seat of my pants sometimes....character flaw....I'm working on it. I thought I would be back in time but I didn't get home until 11:00 and my eyes were cross eyed I was so tired. All that would have come out anyway would have been a bunch of gibberish I am sure. Every time I visit that place I get overwhelmed. I spent all day in the furniture and home building and only walked 3 floors out of about 26. I could spend a week there. I love to go because I come home with so much fresh inspiration of things I want to try. It's a great place for ideas.
One of my favorite things I saw was a light display made out of mason jars. Y'all if I can figure this out, don't be surprised if you see it re invented in my own way, hanging over my booth! I LOVE this idea!





One of my favorite show room at the mart is Go Home. This was the second time I have been in their showroom and this time I realized that they have antiques you can buy there all the time, cash and carry. Most of them were too expensive for resale but I did find these AWESOME large keys from France that I had to have. I got 4 and mom got 4. I can only imagine what they could have been too. Not only did they have old keys, but they had old rusty antique handcuffs, kitchen utensils, stirrups for horses...oh and they had these awesome antique wine bottles, the kind with the really large base and narrow neck, but they wanted 60.00 each....I did NOT come home with one of those, as much as  I wanted to.

    Those keys are gorgeous. I've also noticed a lot of shops around town with the mason jar lighting. My best friend made one for her kitchen and it was a fairly easy project. It definitely makes more of an impact with a grouping like that, though!

    Very funky! I loved the cash and carry section in our market. I agree though a lot of the stuff was way to expensive for resale!

    That is a really interesting light! Its hard to tell, are each of the jars
    lit up with a bulb? I would probably burn my booth down from wiring
    it wrong. ha ha. Let me know if you figure it out, its very cool.

    Love that Mason jar chandelier. Have seen different interpretations of this idea, this one was the best. Have fun with new finishes!
