A piece of advice if you attempt this yourself.....Wear a hat and tuck ALL of your hair into it. I cannot tell you how many times I painted over a piece of hair.. ewww... and you could eat off the floor before I started, it was so clean. It's also helpful to have soft socks that you put on right before you step in. I figured this out day two after having to rag up little black specks from my bare feet.
The color I chose was White Dove, a color from Benjamin Moore, but I used Behr Paint from Home Depot in a premium semi gloss so that it would be really washable. This color is white but it's not stark white. There is no glare and it's very soft and soothing.
I've been on the hunt for fabrics and accessories and have a pretty good idea of what I am going to do! Obviously I will be making a sink skirt....I am still iffy on that fabric. The mirror and the light fixture will be replaced, I will have new art work and a new shower curtain! I can't wait to get it done and show you the final result...
In case you forgot the before picture and all of it's hideousness....
Here ya go...
Ahhh...it's so much cleaner and brighter in there!

Kelli it looks so amazing! You have saved yourself a bundle by doing this yourself and not hiring a contractor to do this work. Plus, you will have so much satisfaction every time you enter this bathroom, knowing you did all this work yourself. Just gorgeous! Want to come visit SF and help me with my bathrooms?
ReplyDeleteReally looking nice and bright!
ReplyDeleteMy bathroom layout is almost identical to yours!! Go figure, I just painted my floor tile too (in two bathrooms actually)! I used white gloss spray paint though! Love what you have done. Hopefully, I will get my pictures posted too! Great job!
