Okay....so I start painting with my chalk paint. I bought Country Gray specifically for a piece that I had knobs that I wanted to match. When I got it on, it clearly was not the same color as the online swatch. As a matter of fact, it matches exactly to the color cream. The label says Country Gray and the website says it's a putty color. I'm not seeing it. I wonder if it could have been mislabeled? Is this what you see or is it just my eyes??

Country Gray...... The Color it's supposed to be.......

cream.... the color it looks like.......
Am I crazy?? Or does this look like it's supposed too?
I've contacted the company to see what they have to say and I'm waiting to here back.....

Definitely looks cream to me! That's why I'm so afraid to buy paint I can't really see in person! I hope they at least send you a color closer to what you were expecting.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really pretty - creamy pretty but not putty pretty. Hmm...I thought you were going to say how much it changes when it dries! Well, I'm curious to see what they will say...
ReplyDeletehi kelli! i got a couple cans last week and they were kind enough to mail me a painted color chart with the actual colors on it, which to me all appear different online. the country gray you are showing looks like the country gray on my chart, fyi. i would see if they can mail you the painted chart, too.
ReplyDeletei have noticed with the craze of this paint not many people are claiming that the paint is the color they thought it would be.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you got a mis-labeled can? That's not gray or putty in my eyes!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looks cream. I've not being hearing good things other than Miss Mustard Seed's post about the chalk paints. Yikes! Sorry that you didn't get the color you were wanting!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks cream to me! Please keep us posted. I am getting ready to order some chalk paint, and I'm curious to hear what you find out.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, it looks like cream to me! Let us know what the company says, because I am going to order some paint next week, and I want to make sure I order the right colors.....See you soon!! Have a good day!!!
ReplyDeleteDeff. cream. and I forget which blog it was but some else used the chalk paint by Anne Sloan, she was doing a two tone effect and while painting the trim color on (once the first color had dried) she had gotten some on the main color. when she tried to remove the trim color, both had came off with just water so idk if she had gotten a weird batch or what but just a heads up.
ReplyDeleteHope everything gets resolved!!! I'm sure your piece will turn out amazing; as always.
I think your paint must have been mis-labeled. It's a pretty color, but it ain't grey.
ReplyDeleteIf you are going crazy, then so are we. Cream, for sure...
ReplyDeleteYup, looks like cream. Maybe they are having trouble keeping up with the orders. Besides the color problem, what do you think about the paint?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, CREAM!
ReplyDeleteLooks like cream to me...I'm going to go open my new shipment of paint, now I'm SCARED :)
ReplyDeleteUh, it's cream. Definately mislabeled!
ReplyDeleteHave you waxed it yet? I ordered graphite & while it is clearly black on the screen, it is a very dark greenish gray on my furniture. I'm hoping the wax will darken it enough to be black.
ReplyDeleteLooks cream to me! I just received my two colors Paris Gray and Provence. Love the Provence! Drys darker than it looks which I like. I don't know if It is worth the $40 a quart.....hmmm.....
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing country grey either. Nice cream though. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt does look cream. I used the versailles on a chair and it was very light. I only put one coat on it, it did darken after I used Minwax. I wasn't sure if it would have darken, if I had used 2 coats.
ReplyDeletethanks,
Debbie
Definately cream not gray.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not grey!! I am sure it is mislabeled!! Or we are all color blind...Ha!!!
ReplyDeleteHope they send the correct paint soon!
Hugs
SueAnn
This does not look like country gray to me.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
We send out hand painted colour cards so then you can see what you get. You can't trust the on-line colours as everyones' computers are calibrated in a different way.
ReplyDeleteDon't blame the paint people!
We do have hand painted color charts available. And they are hand painted....every single one of them....26 colors on each one!! The computer really does not show the correct colors. Everyone's computer is different and the color will show up differently on them. To get more of that first color you show, you can use the clear wax and then the Annie Sloan rustic dark wax and you will get more of that color.
