It's bathing suit season. The season I DREAD the most. I DESPISE the dressing room where the lighting in there is just cruel and unusual punishment. Pasty white never looked so bad under those fluorescents. Every sag, every dimple and every wrinkle stares right back at you. I'm gonna shoot straight with you and talk to you like you are my support group tonight...cause in a way you are. That's why we blog right? It's so amazing that we can sit at our home computers and build relationships that affirm us and help us to be all who God has created us to be. I decided today that I needed to do something about my weight gain. I'm not horribly overweight....Its been over a year and I still have not gotten the last 10 pounds off from having Elijah. During my pregnancy with him I was SO incredibly lethargic. All I did was pray, eat and take care of my kids the best that I could. Now, I have lost all of my muscle and I have no energy. I NEED the energy to maintain my relationship with the Lord, to chase after my 3 year old, to keep up with my house, to paint furniture, to be a good wife and the list goes on and on and on...I also need to be healthy for my children and for my future grandbabies.
Monday starts the gym...Heather if you are reading this, PLEASE keep me accountable to come to your spin class! I am also going to be trying the weight watchers meal plan from E-MEALZ this week. They have delicious, easy and cheap recipes, with items that are on sale for the week at your local grocery store. I need brainless cooking and this is the closest I can get.

E-Mealz has offered us a 3 month membership, no strings attached, for the meal plan of your choice as a giveaway! I'm super excited for one of you to be trying this out along side me. I'm hoping it makes me look thinner in a week! If you are not trying to lose weight they have other plans to choose from. All you have to do is check out their blog and let me know what plan you think you want to try. The winner will be chosen at random when I post Restored It Wednesday this week. If you want an extra chance, be a follower of my blog and tweet or facebook this giveaway. Let me know you did this in a separate comment. We did good today with our food. The hubs grilled a lean steak and I fixed roasted veggies and a great dip for an appetizer. I thought I would share it. I used a single serving fat free Yoplait Greek yogurt. It was 120 calories for the WHOLE bowl of dip. All I did was add diced cucumber, 1 garlic clove squeezed through a press, dill and salt to taste. It turned into a light and delicious Teziki sauce perfect for dipping raw veggies and pita crisps.

My hubby and I have been working on losing weight too! We've been doing low-carb and have both gone down at least one pant size. But oh, not fun!
ReplyDeleteI also just had a baby 6 weeks ago (he's my fourth). Yesterday, I pulled out my exercise machine, with the hopes of getting in shape again (finally) :) I'm going to check out this meal thing.
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of great things about the emealz plans. I'm going WW online and have lost 13 pounds since March 1. Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on this one!!! Try sparkpeople.com for calorie counting and recording. Really helps! AND it's free.
ReplyDeleteKelli, that is a pretty cool site! We have been doing the low carb but instead of reducing my desire for carbs....I could eat a whole bag of flour. Love that they could give me new ideas! I also wanted to remind you to email me your address so I can send you your prize from the TanTowel Giveaway. Love, Me www.youaretalkingtoomuch.com
ReplyDeleteI am a follower! My husband and have lost 20 lbs. each recently (last 2 months) it's great not having diet alone! We've been doing the following: green veggies, grilled or baked fish or chicken, plenty of water! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteJust read this post this morning-Sunday - and it echoes everything that's been on my mind lately - and actually shedding tears over:-(
ReplyDeleteSo excited to look more closely at emealz...but at first glance, I think the portion control menu might be best!
Thanks for your honesty and vulnerability!
You're motivating me! I'm in the same boat. Have that last 10-15lbs from the past two kids! Alright! Let's do it!

Thanks, this is so the cry of my heart!!! Thanks for the support.. Sheila Lee
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! I'd like to try the regular meal plan for Publix to start with. Then probably change to low fat or portion control for Publix.

ReplyDeleteKelli, I'm still working on losing weight...45 pounds so far! I know it is always so much better to have the support and accountability of friends. :-) I'd love to try the eMealz plan, either Weight Watchers or portion control would work for us.
ReplyDeleteThought I'd let you know that I appreciate you so much, and I was able to share this morning with my Sunday School class about your example of faith. :-) Thank you!
My sister is getting married in June so I joined the gym last October and guess what - I'm still the same weight so I sure could use some help.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win...the Walmart Meal plant would be my choice :)

The plan I would go for is the couples only plan since it is only my husband and myself now at home.

Im all about the weight loss meal plan! Let's do this! Well be bathing beauties in no time
ReplyDeleteKelli, I'm a new follower. Thank you so much for this opportunity! I looked at emealz and I think I would try either the low fat family plan or the low carb plan for myself. It's so hard to lose weight, especially as you get older, and it helps to have someone help you along.
