MOTHERS DAY SUPRISE AND SOME SIGNS

I hope all of you mommas had a beautiful and happy Mother's day yesterday. My alarm went off promptly at 7:45 a.m. You should know, however, that it was not my traditional alarm clock, but the sound of my 11 year old screaming, "Happy Mother's Day!!" at the top of her lungs. Now, before you all start judging, I was sleeping in a little bit because I stayed up until after midnight working on the auction. After I cracked open an eye, focused a little and realized I was really awake, I saw my beautiful brown eyed girl standing over me with a big toothed grin holding a green tray filled with her surprises for me. She had gotten up really early to prepare, making sure it was absolutely perfect.  Immediately I was thinking...I need a picture of this for the blog, but then I came back to reality and realized I should sit that aside and enjoy what she had done for me. So you are getting the "after" shot.  She had been planning this for weeks. It all started to come together as I realized why she had asked for her very own flower vase, tagged along to the grocery store with my husband, somehow managed to get my sister to take her to Bed Bath and Beyond without me knowing AND made me take a picture with her using her new camera. Gosh, if I had known she was going to use that picture in the cute little frame, I would have gotten out of my pajamas and at least put on some lipstick.

Not only did she make me a fabulous pancake breakfast in bed, but she and my youngest bought me AMEX gift cards for my upcoming trip to Lucketts.

I am getting so excited about this girls weekend getaway with my sister and my mom! I am thrilled that the design house will be open for us to visit while we are there.

And can I show you what will be the end of me?? I have been trying so hard to be good......

But oh baby....these are my weakness!!!

So,I have to admit that Mother's Day was a little bitter sweet this year. I am so thankful for my babies and I enjoyed them both so much, but my heart ached for the moms who lost their children and for the children who lost their moms just a few days ago. Talk about adding salt to a wound for such a holiday to be so close to the day they lost everything. Please continue to pray for the victims of these storms. It's going to be a long hard road.

COCO said this in my comments today regarding the auction:
"I don't have a blog but i live in Alabama. Spent Saturday in pratt city.. i've never seen devastation like that. They were living in poverty conditions before the tornadoes. I worked at Scotts School where FEMA has set up a relief center. Extremely humbling and convicting. We have so much. They have nothing tangible. May the God of ALL grace multiply your efforts."

I have to say that those of you are are participating in this auction are AWESOME! We only have 3 things on the auction block and are already at almost 200.00. Keep the items coming, keep spreading the word and keep shopping! Together we can make a huge difference!

I received an email from a sweet gal yesterday named Kristin. Kristin has 3 signs that she would like to auction.
