MY NEW FAVORITE PIECE OF ART

Sunday, my husband and I started a new small group with some couples from my church. It's called Home Improvement and is a small group dedicated to building healthy marriages and families. We had a VERY good time and learned a lot in the short time we were there.
My very favorite part of the WHOLE night was reuniting with a childhood friend. I was thrilled to see Suzanne, a girl I played softball with growing up. I have not seen her in so many years and there she sat, right next to me. We ended up being paired up together to pray for one another and believe me, it was God ordained. We were able to share some "life" things with one another both the good and the ugly.
Those "life" things, have a way of shaping our character and have a strong influence on what kind of person we become. God never promises us that life will be easy. As a matter of fact, in John 16:33 he says just the opposite,  "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

I have had to overcome adversity in my own life such as losing my son, being ridiculed as a child, and having an unhealthy view of myself and a lack of self confidence. On my own, survival would be impossible.   Living again is only possible by the grace of God and by  knowing who I am in Jesus Christ. I know that I am free, I am beautiful, I am worthy, I am smart,  I am created in the image of God, I am treasured and I am the apple of His eye.
My friend Suzanne took all of these things that The Lord says about us as his children, straight out of the word of God and penciled them around this AMAZING portrait of Jesus holding a lamb. I was THRILLED, to say the least, to get a copy of this drawing. It is being framed and hung right at my front door to remind my family and all of those who enter, just how special they truly are.

Amazing, Right??
I have made this large enough for you to be able to print it for yourself. Before each word you can place your name to speak truth over yourself or someone else when you are feeling down. "Kelli is free, Kelli is beautiful, Kelli is heir to the throne, Kelli is free from oppression.....and so on.....you get the idea.

My new favorite piece of art is going to the frame shop tomorrow and I cannot wait!

Ladies and Gents, you are beautiful, you are loved, and you are accepted by the King of all Kings. The best part about it all is that he loves and accepts us just the way we are.....FLAWED.
 Don't you ever forget it.

I normally don't post You Tube videos but this one is too good not to share. It goes PERFECTLY with this drawing. I hope you watch it.

  1. It is amazing, you could have been writing this about me. But I really have been thankful (after the fact of course) for all the bad in my life. It has made me a better stronger person.

  4. What a beautiful post, drawing, and song! I am going to send this to a friend who is hurting right now. [ I always get a little thrill when I see those words that we are "the apple of His eye."]

  7. Kelli - I so enjoy reading your blog and watching the lovely transformations you do on furniture. But the ultimate transformation is the one that the Lord Jesus Christ does with us. Lovely post. "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all the things shall be added unto you". Matt.6:33
