There is nothing like a little blood and guts on Halloween....right?
You are probably thinking I am CRAZY about right now. Why is she showing me pictures of bird guts?
My sweet husband went pheasant hunting with his dad last weekend in South Dakota. Before he left, I asked him to please bring me back the feathers. They did indeed bring me back the feathers but they were the whole pelt.....meaning, I had to pluck them......EW...seriously.....double EW........
The processor had the meat of the bird sent by Fed Ex to us however, the pelts came home in the suitcase. Last night, we sat at the kitchen table and the husband plucked while I cleaned and disinfected. This was a completely disgusting project but the end result was breathtaking. In my opinion, these are the most beautiful bird feathers in God's bird creation.
Take a look.......................
Stay tuned.... I will be using these feathers in several different holiday projects over the next several months.
Oh, Kelly. That is what I call suffering for your art! :) Those feathers are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteThe man of my house has brought me home several of these feathers over the course of the last couple weeks. They are beautiful and I do plan on a project involving them...hmmm...ideas?

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with them, Kelli! My husband is a hunter too and I must say I really enjoy the beauty of turkey feathers. And the tastiness of venison. HA!
