This year has gone by so fast that I completely skipped over my one year anniversary with this blog. On October 6th of last year I wrote my first post called Restored. I went back and read it today, remembering how the Lord used an old beat up buffet to teach me something about himself while I was healing from losing my baby boy, Elijah. If you would like to know more about that, you can read my whole journey from beginning to end at The Blessing Of Elijah.
Over the past year I have realized that other than my number one job of being wife and mom, I want blogging to be my forever job. I love this blog because I love all of you. I love the fact that you take the time to read my ramblings, that you encourage me when I am down, that you inspire me with your creativity and although I have not met most of you face to face, I can consider each of you special friends.
I appreciate you all more than you know.
So, in honor of you and a fabulous year, I am going to buy one of you a can of chalk paint, and a few other happy surprises.

For this giveaway, you don't have to do anything to enter other than leave a comment with your name and email in this post. I will randomly pick the winner on Friday.
I love you guys!!

Wow, has it really only been one year? That is so fun, I remember very well meeting your mother in law on the plane, and then the first few conversations we had about blogging. You have accomplished so much in one year! I do hope it has helped and blessed you so much in your healing. I know you have touched a lot of homes and hearts with the things you share. Kelly, Congratulations on the success of your blog! I just read your story about Elijah. My heart is aching for your loss. Two of my closest friends lost their little girl Sydney on Mother's Day this May. Next Tuesday would have been Syd's 7th birthday.
ReplyDeleteShe too was a fighter. Born with SMA, she was told she wouldn't live to see her 2nd birthday. She did. The disease robbed her of so many things we all take for granted, but she didn't see it that way. Instead of focusing on the fact that she couldn't run, she'd tell her dad she was the fastest in her class (in her power chair).
I could go on and on about this little girl, but I think I'll save it till Tuesday:). Again, congratulations on your blog, sorry for your loss and thank you for always writing from the heart!

ReplyDeleteisn't it odd--and yet comforting?--the way our lives twist and turn in such unexpected ways? nothing can ever fill the void you have after losing a child...yet you have filled a void in others by sharing your ideas, your feelings and your experiences through your blog.
ReplyDeletei don't need a can of chalk paint right now so please don't pick me...just wanted to let you know that you have made a difference.
