It has been a CRAZY week around here. My oldest had a heavy load of homework and quite honestly I think the 6th grade is starting to get tough. She has been so used to getting by with very little effort at home and managed to make A's and B's and now....not so much. After Christmas we started seeing a big change in her grades so I am now having to spend a lot more time with her at night...when I normally blog. It's all good though! Somehow, I will juggle it all around and get it done.
Homewood has been going really well too! I've spent a lot of time picking some things to replenish my space. It gets wiped out in a hurry. I don't know about you, but I am having a harder time finding furniture around here! I think the painted furniture bug has hit a lot more "do it yourselfers" and chalk paint has made it easier as well. I'm going to be looking for auctions this week. Maybe I can find things easier that way, as long as I don't get caught up in the emotion of it all! I don't want to pay more than 50 dollars, or so, for things and that makes it hard too!
Another thing that happened this week is that we lost a very dear friend and fellow dealer. Our friend Audrey Fain passed away suddenly from complications to surgery. She had a bulging disk that was operated on and she went home shortly after. A few days later, she started throwing blood clots that they could not stop. My kids loved her so much and she and my mom were great friends. She was such a light to every one she met and knew and we will miss her terribly! Please pray for her sweet husband Eston and their daughter Ashley as they grieve.....
Well....what else is going on....
I found a great little estate sale on Friday. I couldn't afford the big pieces but I did find some precious little children's folding chairs, some silver, more sea shells for my apothecary jar, a GREAT oyster shell that I have by my bed to hold my jewelry, a few picture frames and other odds and ends. I took a lot of those things into Homewood yesterday.
I also took some "fresh in the marketplace" photos, some of which are posted today on Homewood's blog. Here is one of them......
I love vintage telephones...
You can see more photos from the shop on their blog that I write
Come check it out!
I hope your day is fabulous and I will see you back here tomorrow for Restored It Wednesday.
Love you guys!!

oh i am so sorry for your loss... how sudden and sad.
ReplyDeleteKelli ~ I'm so sorry for your loss! Sounds like an amazing woman! It is so hard balancing family and work. I struggle with it every day since blogging, picking, painting and keeping the store stocked up with new merchandise takes way more hours then any "real" job. I struggle with the fact that I'm not investing in the things that really matter; right there with you ~ trying to find the balance.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you lost such a good friend. Prayers for you and for her family. I too love that oyster shell.
