I know, I know, I know....these are totally over done in the blogesphere but I have been wanting to make these for my black cabinet in my kitchen since I saw them. Remember when I told you about the lady down the street throwing all of the good, donatable stuff in the trash? You can read that here. Well, I couldn't STAND for all of those old books to go to waste. It broke my heart. Why? I don't know. I guess because of the history behind them, and the beauty of the well worn pages. I just LOVE the analogy. EVERY TIME I save something from the dump, it reminds me of how Jesus saved me and restored me making me useful and beautiful again. I only used one half of a book and I have FIVE wreaths so far. Two are staying on my cabinets and the rest will go to consigning Interiors.
These books would never get read in my house, but I am sure going to enjoy looking at them in a new way. Have any of you made one yet? I know there are a gajillion tutorials out there and they are super easy to do!
Yes, they have been done alot but everytime I see one, I fall in love all over again. I think you are right it is the idea you have rescued it and made it pretty again...thanks for sharing!!!
Looks fab!! You know, I haven't made one yet!! I keep saying I am going too but never do!! Guess I better get the lead out. By the time I get to them, they will be all the rage again!! Ha! Hugs SueAnn
I totally agree with all above, done but love them. they look really awesome against black.I`ve yet to try one but inspired to visit a flea market for the right book.
Hi Kelly! Love your wreath. I've made a few for gifts, but seeing yours makes me want to make one for myself!! Did you use a wreath form? Have a great day!
I appreciate each one of you and love to read your comments. Even though it is impossible to respond to each one, please know that I read them all. You guys are the best! I pray for y'all daily and consider each one of you my friend.
Very pretty. I've been wanting to try one of these too. I made the one with roses and it took me all week! :)

ReplyDeleteSee? I sure know how to pick a MMS stylist, doncha think?!? :)
ReplyDeleteI love your twist on this! I like how you spiraled the cones as opposed to attaching them straight on. VERY pretty!

ReplyDeleteLove them! I think they would look good with a little "bling" in the center or a burlap rosette!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Ever After, actually the whole Williamsburg series by Elizabeth Thane, is really good. First editions are also selling for $30 on Amazon.
ReplyDeleteYour wreaths are really pretty, I'm just sad to see such a good book on the supply list.

Too cute! I love them, even if they are all over the place, they are so fun, and even better because you made them yourself.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I want one too, most everything has been blogged about, but everyone puts their own spin on things! Love your spin (or twist)!
ReplyDeleteI have seen them too... so what! I love your wreaths... and your photos are gorgeous.
