FAVORITE FINDS AND A FURNITURE STORE

Unfortunately I do not have slipcovering mad  skills like some of you thrifties out there. I am still trying to get it right. My patience was spread SO thin just making over the small couch in my kitchen for the Miss Mustard Seed challenge. My sewing skills need to improve before tackling our main living area furniture and  my sofas have had it. Years of my kids bouncing on the cushions broke the frame of our largest one.  I am so blessed to have family in the furniture business and was able to order a new couch and two new chairs with an ottoman this weekend. Barnetts in located in Trussville and sells name brand furniture at wholesale prices. You can find their link on my side bar in the sponsor section.

I  bought a Rowe Couch with a washable linen slipcover and two Robin Bruce Chairs with a gorgeous linen and chocolate slipcover.
Crazy me didn't take my camera so I don't have a good picture of my chairs!! But I certainly will be taking a lot of them when they arrive and I absolutely cannot wait.

I also hit some garage sales with my mom and sister this weekend. I don't know about your neck of the woods, but they have fired UP here in Birmingham. They were everywhere!  Saturday was a GREAT day for great finds. My sister bought a very nice french chair, my mom found a large white basket over 100 years old and in great shape along with a lot of other goodies, and I bought a lot of Christmas for next year. My favorite finds of the day however were an amazing antique scale and two English Ironstone pitchers.

The pitchers were in perfect shape!  I was so excited to be able to add them to my collection.

I have not been garage "sailing" in weeks and weeks it seems, because of the cold.......I have got the fever now! I can't wait for next week!
Did any of you get out and thrift this weekend?
What did you find?

  7. I love your finds!!! Those pitchers are beautiful!

I went to a moving sale on Friday and I found 3 teak chaise lounge chairs, for the backyard, complete with cushions and a teak side table. March is still early for garage saling in Michigan so I was happy to stumble on this one!
