GOLD LEAFING TIPS

I have found a new love that I must share....

I love the 18K gold leafing pen by Krylon. I found mine at Hobby Lobby and I have almost used up the whole thing. I use it to sign art work but I just discovered that I love it on furniture too! If you have detail on a piece that is minimal, and needs a punch of french flair, try this! It's just paint. If you hate it you can paint right over it. I used it on the detail of this mirror............

as well as the details on this buffet.

The results are worth a lot more than the 7.00 pen.

Have you used this before? If you have, tell me what you did with it! I could use some more ideas.

  2. HI Kelli,

Yes I too found this product about 2 years ago, and used it on a piece of furniture I rescued from wood rot! You wouldnt know by looking at it now, with all its fancy shmancy gold detailing. I dont have a good steady hand at detail work and found this pen incredible to use!

  5. I love this pen and have been using it for years. As a decorative painter I use it on all the ornaments I paint, edges of boxes, molding, routed edges on plaques, outline a faux mat on a canvas - there are so many things this works well on. And it comes in silver also which looks wonderful with blues. Caution - you will go a little nuts when you first get your pen - gold leafing everything!!
