I had dinner tonight with some amazing ladies at one of the many restaurants here in Atlanta, GA, the Twisted Taco. Twisted Taco was yummy but the company I was with was priceless. I really enjoyed connecting with women such as......
Jennifer Carroll from Celebrating Everyday Life. Jennifer at one point was going to be my roomy at the Crown Plaza until Marian had an extra room she said I could have. I kept Jennifer's number and text her when I arrived, hoping she could be a familiar "face" I could have dinner with. I got here "knowing" a lot of people but I didn't really know them. It was so weird trying to scan the room and find the faces you recognize from pictures. Some look the same and some don't. Thank you to those of you who came up to me to introduced yourselves. You made me feel good and a lot more at home. Anyways...Jennifer has been a wonderful connection and I am sure a life long friend that I have made here at Haven. She is an amazing stylist. I really mean AMAZING. Jennifer was an event planner for 17 years, focusing mainly on weddings but is now sharing her knowledge with us through her blog. Look at this baby shower!!
You can find her blog here at Celebrating Everyday Life.
I also ate with Miss Carrie from Making Lemonade, a southern gal through and through but lives in Philly. She cracked me up talking about how her roots don't show down here and her dialect becomes a bit more drawn out. You know, a good "suuuuthun"(southern) girl wouldn't dare let those dark roots show. No Ma'am! I loved hearing Carrie's story of how she moved all alone from Boston to South Carolina to be a teacher after college. She adopted the south and the south adopted her. She is a precious, sweet lady and I loved getting to know her. She blogs a little about everything. I have been scoping it all out tonight. One thing that caught my eye was this orange pomegranate smoothie she made. I want one NOW! This looks delightful, doesn't it?
Oh, how I loved reading this! So glad you are having a good time and connecting with such creative people! Have a blessed weekend...
