I worked on Christmas again today. I finished up a wreath I started a week ago...I wanted to combine sheet music, burlap and a green Christmas wreath and this is what I came up with! Yes, another bird...I LOVE them. I created the sheet music wreath on cardboard and then wired it to the pre made Christmas wreath. The bird is hot glued onto a little Spanish moss and then glued in the center.
When I was over at Beyond the Picket Fence today, I cam across this precious little birds nest sitting in sheet music. How ADORABLE is this? Barbara Jean at Treasures from the Heart gives a great tutorial on how to make these cute little things. They will be PERFECT in my trees!
I also figured out how to make some cute bows from Upholstery Webbing. I really love the texture of this stuff. It's very "Jute" like. It's a little difficult to work with because its SO thick, but I figured out how to use it while I was waiting for my breakfast in the Chick-fil-A drive through. Gotta make the most of every minute around here..( wink, wink)
I went to the shop today to take a few picture of what we had done so far. I love this little radial flyer wagon with the mini trees!!
I am working on my slip covers right now. I'm just taking a break to write this post. I bought the canvas drop cloths at LOWES! After I washed and dried them they feel great!! They are actually a lot softer than I thought they would be. I'm hoping to have at least one finished up by tomorrow!

Hey Kelli: I'm coming to B'ham today to start work on my new little grandson's bedroom...first stop (planned at this point) is CI...hopefully I'll see either you and/or Elizabeth. Looking forward to seeing your booth!

I'm looking forward to reading about your slipcover project. I'm doing the same thing. My only concern with the drop cloths is that I notice there are places where they are frayed, which I'll have to work around, and I'm concerned that after all of my effort, they won't hold up.
ReplyDeleteHey...I love all of your burlap bows! I was just wondering what type of burlap you use, whether it was burlap ribbon or not. It seems a lot different than burlap I've bought. Thanks!
