My Dining Room in Progress

I found it!! I have an album that has a bunch of pictures in them that I had already printed. This image is terrible. I had to scan it and it wasn't taken with the best of cameras, but can you BELIEVE this pepto color paint? It was so depressing in here because every wall in the house EXCEPT the bedrooms and baths were painted this color. And Before you see the rest of the pictures, it's still dark in here! I don't have any natural light because the lady had the windows slightly tinted. I don't really know what to do about that right now.

So, I figured you could be my motivation! I have been so busy painting furniture for other people I have totally neglected finishing up my own house. I thought I would start with the dining room taking you step by step until completion and then move on to the next room. I'm not going to post about this everyday, just as I get things completed. So here is what I have so far.

There is definitely thriftiness involved. The paintings hanging in the back were inherited. The beautiful Italian guild sconces were an estate sale find, 25.00 for the pair!! The table belongs to a friend of mine. His PawPaw made it by hand but it was a country oak color. They didn't want it in their home and it needed some TLC so I told them I would "Store" it until they needed it back. I refinished it by re-staining it in JAVA with my favorite General Finishes Gel Stain. The gorgeous silver center piece and candle sticks were the Hub's grandmothers and, of course, the shells are all collected garage sale finds. The sisal rug was a gift and the parson chairs were free!!
So far this has been a REALLY cheap makeover. I painted the trim in Benjamin Moore Cloud White and the Walls in Tapestry Beige, also a Benjie Color.

These little shades were 50 cents at a yard sale and my dad is in the lighting business and got us this Cute little Chandelier.

Here is a close up of the Italian Antique Prints and the Sconces.

And the Parsons Chairs. OH SO UGLY!! But a great frame and shape. Marian, you inspired me to slip these chairs after I saw yours!! They do look like Dentist office Chairs!!
So this is going to be my next redo for my house. I think I may even monogram our initial in the center back. I don't know, we will see!
I'll show ya when I'm done!! I couldn't work on the desk today because of the rain, but it's on the books for tomorrow. And hopefully I will get some good pictures of the shop for you as well.

Ya'll have a great night! See you tomorrow!!
Blessings,
