I wanted to set out early today for some garage sales and estate sales with the girls before AnnaKate had to be at school at 8:30, but when my alarm went off at 6:00, and it was dark, I rolled over and turned off the alarm. I've been staying up way too late watching LOST. I'm finally on season six and Don't ANYONE tell me what's going to happen!
I really thought all the deals were gone by the time I left the school but Abbie and I went to a few sales anyway. I found a really neat queen anne desk that needs some bigtime TLC, some herb markers that I am going to use as signs at CI, and saving the best for last, I scored 3 pieces of Black and White 19th Century transferware dated back to 1831!! I was SO pumped. I think I got a really great deal but I don't know much about any of them. I have always collected white ironstone but never transferware because it is so expensive. NOW, the delimah is to decide, do I keep the black and start a new collection? OR do I find out how much they are worth and turn them over? Here are the pictures. If anyone has any knowledge on these and can give me some information I would really appreciate it!! I know the plates are some of the first pieces of transferware made. It's orient in design and the markings are 19th century. I am going to study up on this and maybe offer a little transferware lesson after I figure it all out! Have a great weekend!!

Hi Kelli,
ReplyDeleteI sent you a lengthy email with some information about your pieces here...I hope it's helpful and what you were looking for.
You definitely scored with these finds!
I love the next post down too. You have SO inspired me not to overlook some ugly brass lamps. In fact, I just bought two white lamps because I had some cute shades that I wanted to use on them at my physical store. Now I wish I'd gone to Goodwill or some yard sales. I bet I could find some old lamps for a couple of dollars a piece. Oh well...definitely will remember to look for some now. Great post!
Thanks for your sweet email.
Nancy
I know noting about the pieces. Other than that I LOVE them. They're gorgeous!
