It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Today I have been getting ready for Christmas. We are going to start decorating the shop tomorrow. I've been painting, decoupaging, hot gluing, and pulling out decorations. I sold my second sheet music wreath....YEAH.... so I have to make three more TONIGHT! Folgers is definitely in my future.. I wanted to have three hanging on the back wall above my buffet for the Open House on November 20th.
Some of the things we are going to use I found this weekend at Garage Sales. I wanted you to see some of these awesome finds!

This cute little bird actually came from the thrift store. And the nest...believe it or not, it was one of those grapevine wreaths. I just cut the ties and pulled it apart then sat a little spanish moss in the middle. Isn't he adorable?? The books here were 25 cents a piece...No I am not lying! I couldn't believe it when I got home and put them together, that they were Christmas colors...PERFECT!! Oh Yeah..and the table that all of this is sitting on is an old school house desk. I scored it for 10 bucks on Saturday too! It is SO cute!

And of course I bought ANOTHER brass lamp for 2 bucks. What a steal! Last week I bought a drum shade for 2 bucks that works great on it. $4.00 lamp......

All I did was prime it with my favorite Rustoleum Metal Primer and spray it black Satin. You will notice that the shade is a little too short. HOWEVER, I am going to go and buy a shorter harp. This will fix the problem and it will be perfect. The lamp stores carry them for just a buck or two. And how cute is the finial?? 25 cents at an Estate Sale. I buy them EVERY TIME I see them. You never know when you might need it! I sprayed it black too...

I also got this Christmas tree for 3 dollars. It is the perfect size for my little booth. It even had some pretty gold ornaments on it. The burlap bows I did myself.

Here is another picture of my cute little bird. I just love him.

I worked on some artwork as well today. For those of you who don't know, I also paint for funding fresh water well drilling in Africa, India and Sudan. I started working on ornaments. Here is a picture of half way done. They still have a lot of work to be done on them! I used old sheet music, some textured medium and also some old vintage lace! Pics tomorrow of the finished product! Can't wait to show you!!

I have also decided to sell the transferware I found a few weeks ago. I kept it just to make sure I REALLY wanted to part with it. 19th Century Mulberry is hard to come by! Here is the link to that post. http://restoreinteriors.blogspot.com/2010/10/look-what-i-found.html. You can find it in my Etsy shop.

See Ya'll tomorrow!
Blessings,
