Burlap Rosette Tutorial

Hey Ya'll! I hope you have had a fabulous day today! It is raining and cold here but I have really enjoyed being at home working on all of my goodies for Christmas! I am really digging the burlap right now. I told you yesterday that I would show you how to make these cute little burlap rosettes. This was one of those lovely accidents that turned out to be the best thing EVER! Well, maybe that's exaggerating a "little" bit. I think right now the best thing EVER would be a tropical, kidless vacation or maybe winning the lottery:) But anyway, I am putting these little cuties on everything right now.

All you need for this is a scrap piece of burlap anywhere between 12-16 inches long and maybe about 3 inches wide. You can really play with this a lot..It doesn't have to be exact. You can add length and width as you want too, making them smaller or larger.

The next thing you need to do is take one end and fold it over about a 1/2 inch and hot glue it closed. If you skip this step, when you gather your flower, your fiber will just pull right out.

You are then going work on the other end by snipping one fiber from somewhere in the center. Try and find one about a half inch in. You can see where I put my scissors in the picture.

After you snip it, you are going to work the fiber out so that you can grab it and pull. As you pull you will notice that it will start to gather. The more you gather the rounder it becomes. Make sure you don't pull to hard! Keep working it until you have gathered all the way to the end.

I failed to get a picture of this step but after you have gathered to the end you will just hot glue the ends together forming a tight circle. Just play with it until you get the look that you want and hot glue it shut. That's it! It is super super easy!

Here is a picture of how I wrapped a candle holder in burlap and then hot glued a rosette onto the center. Cute Huh?
