It was so fun to open up my Southern Living magazine this month to see parts of Virginia and Maryland in The Ultimate Antiquing Tour article. My sister and I took my mom on a long girls weekend to this history rich part of the country, where the rolling hills and beautiful mountainous landscapes are enough to take your breath away. They pegged it... I said this very thing when I got home. This is one of, if not THE BEST, places to find great antiques, all while igniting your patriotism as you walk around in areas of these states that are famous for making our country great. I loved this article but I do have to say, they missed one of the best places to visit! They left out Lucketts, where the infamous Miss Mustard Seed houses all of her creations and great finds!
I was however delighting to see Chartreuse and Co.'s barn sale, smack dab on the front. Mom, Katie and I had the pleasure of being in Buckeystownne the very weekend this sale was taking place. I would have missed it ALL if Cassie at Primitive and Proper had not given me the heads up the night before. Other than the Lucketts Fair, Chartreuse and Co. was one of the highlights of our trip.
We will absolutely be going back. I am going to hang onto this article for the great shopping and dining recommendations. There are so many places that we missed for lack of knowledge and time.
After reading the article, it made me want to go back and re visit some of the pictures from the Barn Sale. I thought I would let you reminisce with me.
If you ever need a good girls trip, this area is it!
